The elders are excited about this year’s Harvest Offering. We value church planting and short-term mission trips. One Takes Jesus further and the other excites hearts to see more disciples made. To that end, we are giving the first half of our Harvest Offering to a combination of 20Schemes and a scholarship fund to send our people on short-term mission’s trips.

Over the past few years, we’ve developed a strong relationship with 20Schemes, and Patrick and Candice McDonnell have recently returned from a scouting trip there. We’ve been extremely encouraged by their efforts to plant churches in Scotland’s poorest communities, where many have never heard the gospel.

The elders also desire to see more men and women engaging in short-term mission trips. This past summer we met with a group of folks representing a cross-section of our church to discuss where we have been in the past and to dream about the future together. One of the many takeaways from our time together was the significant role short-term mission trips have played in the spiritual lives of our congregation historically. We want that rich history to continue. We hope setting money aside to help people take those trips will minimize one of the major barriers folks face when considering these opportunities.

The second half will help remodel our bathrooms, which are in desperate need of some TLC. The nicer our facilities look, the worse our bathrooms stand out. If you still need convincing that this will be helpful, just visit the bathrooms in the Education Center. :)

We will be taking up the offering during the service on November 20th, but you can give through the end of the year. Please join us in this exciting gospel enterprise.

Grace and Peace,
