In, “The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self”, Carl Trueman concisely describes the origins of this work as his curiosity about how and why a particular statement has come to be regarded as coherent and meaningful. That is, “I am a woman trapped in a man’s body”. We live in the wake of the sexual revolution where such statements abound. Starting on September 4th there will be a class at 9:15 am in the North Fellowship Hall which is aimed to help you understand and engage the current expressions of the postmodern worldview relating to sexuality.

Pastor Malachi will be leading us through this study. He will help us get a better handle on the background of the sexual revolution as he shows us how we ought to respond. In order to attend this class, you’ll need to sign up. We’ll charge $10 for Carl Trueman’s book, Strange New World: How Thinkers and Activists Redefined Identity and Sparked the Sexual Revolution. We’ll throw in the matching study guide for free. These resources are an assessable format of his larger book noted above. Please sign up at the welcome desk or online here by August 23.

As Christians, we are called to always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks for the hope that we have. We are to this with gentleness and respect (1 Pet. 3:15). As God’s people we can gladly and unashamedly be pillars of the truth (1 Tim. 3:15). We are to be equipped for the work of the ministry (Eph. 4:12). This class will help us achieve all of those things. You will be enriched through this study and hope to see you there.
