prophet2

When Joseph fled to Egypt it was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Hosea, "Out of Egypt I called my son" (Matt.2:15). The coming of the Spirit in Acts 2:14- 21 is said to fulfill the words in Joel. The coming Davidic King that was promised in Amos 9:11-15 is none other than King Jesus (Acts 15:13-18).

Hosea, Joel, Amos, and the other minor prophets are profitable "for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work" (2 Tim.3:16-17). When we get a small grasp of the minor prophets, it helps us see how all of the Bible points to Jesus.

During the Sunday School hour, we will be going through the minor prophets. We will seek to:

  • Understand our text within its own context
  • Ask how our text utilities other Old Testament texts
  • Understand how our text anticipates Jesus
  • Discuss how we should respond to this text in our daily lives

Along the way, we will discuss some tools to understand and apply these books. These classes aim at maturing every disciple in their walk with Jesus. Whether you are a mature Christian or just became a Christian yesterday, these classes should be beneficial for you.
